The Provincial Manor house yesterday hosted the presentation of a research work included in the book Camiño Xacobeo Miñoto Ribeiro, which brings together extensive documentation and historical data that support this route of communication between the Portuguese city of Braga and Santiago de Compostela as a pilgrimage route. "A very important challenge to get it officially recognized as a Jacobean route," said the vice president of the Provincial Council, César Fernández, during the presentation of the book, which was also attended by the president of the Association of Councils of Camiño, Miñoto Ribeiro , Avelino de Francisco and the researchers Castor Pérez, José Ramón Estévez and Jorge Bértolo.

César Fernández conveyed his congratulations to those responsible for a publication "that will allow us to demonstrate that this path is one of the oldest pilgrimage routes that linked the north of Portugal with Compostela, or that it will surely help to achieve this official status, an objective that will continue to counting on the full support of the Deputation of Ourense and that it will mean a before and after for the pole councils that this route travels”.
